Join me for an afternoon of dedicated time to learning and improving knife skills for carving spoons and other wooden slöjd crafts. We will talk about good form and technique for effective and safe cuts. Each student will be supplied with axed out spoon blanks to work on. If you would like to axe your own blank you are encouraged to join the axing class on Thursday afternoon.

During the class we will talk through wood selection, tools, and a bit on sharpening if you wish.

Course Schedule:

Friday afternoon at 2pm

No prior experience needed.

Minimum age: 14 years old

Material costs: No material cost.

Please bring your own carving knife and spoon knife if you have one. All other tools and materials will be provided.

Raleigh speaks English and a little bit of Swedish.

If language is a barrier we are confident you will learn even if you speak or understand broken English. So much of the learning depends on seeing, feeling, and hearing the sounds as well.

IMPORTANT- Festival Tickets are booked separately and in addition to workshops. Please be sure you have booked your ticket before booking workshops!
