Friday 5th - Split Hazel Whisket Basket with Florence Hamer

We’ll be making a mini split hazel whisket basket. A traditional, endangered style of basket from the Wales, UK. I will be showing you how to process the hazel rods into weavers, and ribs for our basket. We’ll be weaving onto round hoops of hazel, producing our material and then weaving away through the afternoon to create a sweet, shallow round basket. You will learn all the techniques needed to produce many other variations of this basket.

Course Schedule:

  • Friday

No prior experience needed. Tho any woodworking or basketry experience is not required it will support your process.

Minimum age: 16 years old

Material costs: A 100sek material cost is included in the course fee.

If you have your own carving knife please bring it. All other tools and materials will be provided.
